Under the hood
How a search is answered

Your request becomes terms
The query is lowercased, split into words, and common words are dropped. Terms shorter than two characters are ignored.

The catalog is queried
Two requests run in parallel against the catalog database: a precise one, where every term must appear, and a broad one for the most distinctive term.

Results are scored and explained
Name, industry, keywords, description and location carry different weights. Each card states which of your terms matched, and where.
Ranking is keyword-based today — that is a deliberate first step, not a claim about machine learning. Semantic ranking is on the list above.
